Here's another reason why we should hate Micro$oft. I received this document from a counterpart. It was in .docx format. Surely enough, this document was saved using M$ Office 2007. I highly suspect his computer runs on M$ Vista. Now, we know that M$ claimed that Vista has been sold 1 million copies. We know now why that claim to be true. Everybody is forced to use the diabolic resources-eater system! At the office, I am still running on Window$ XP and quite comfortable with it.

So, what to do? I know that you can actually dismantle the .docx document by renaming it to .zip. But, that doesn't accomplish the task. I will not install M$ Office 2007 just because I need to view some lousy document. I need a converter. That's what I had in mind. So, I tried to Google. Found an online docx converter. But, it doesn't seem to be accessible. Had to find another way. Found the official tool to convert from Micro$oft. Guess what? The size of the goddam software is 20MB+! Wouldn't you love Micro$oft?

Then, I ask one of my friends whether she had Office 2007 installed. She didn't have it, but she could convert the document for me. So, I forwarded the email. After quite some time, I got impatience and decided to find the tool myself. Yup, I finally downloaded the 20MB+ tool and had it installed on my system. By the time I got it installed, the reply came. I was finally able to view the document. Yaaay!

So, how to remove the goddam converter? I could not find it in Add/ Remove Program in the Control Panel. I could not see it anywhere in the Start program. How do I remove this thingy bugging thing? Great work, Micro$oft! Now there's another reason to hate you even more. Thanks. Big thanks for making my life easier!
