Is that Bomb Under Your Bra?Tuesday April 01, 2008

I didn't know how to react over this news. Should I concern? Should I laugh? A woman in America was forced to remove her nipple rings because it set off the alarm at the airport. Is this the price this woman have to pay for her freedom of expression?

As we all know, America has set high standard of security at the airport since the Black September
. It was said that agents of TSA, a unit of the Department of Homeland Security, were trained to search people with piercing in "sensitive areas". I guess this also includes the woman's breast. It was also said that incidents of female terrorists hiding explosives in "sensitive areas" were on the rise and provided a picture of a "bra bomb" that was used in training its agents. Poor woman.

But, why would they need to pierce their body? Isn't there any other way to make a woman look beautiful? I think it is dangerous for anyone to have their body pierced with something. By dangerous, I am not talking about this kind of case. What if the jewel got stuck to something and it ripped off your skin. Ouch! If it is so much concern to the country, people of America should be thinking twice before piercing their body. Or, move to another country where such thing is not of concern.
